Look1 subtraction cut sheer silk organza dress with digitally rendered optical illusion print.

-Note how the body is distorted and concealed by the fabric and print-

This Dysmorphia Collection is inspired by the concept of Body dysmorphia and optical illusions. This collection was designed with the body as the focal piece but as a means to conceal it.

Dysmorphia is described as involving obsessive focus on perceived flaw in appearance. For decade the fashion industry has focused on a petite, “perfect” figure. Through this collection I wanted to distort the figure through garment construction as well as the complex pattern.

This collection, MUSE, was designed with a person as the main inspiration. Hunter Schafer is a Model/Actress with a very unique style and background as a trans woman. I took inspiration from her personal art and ideology as a trans woman as well as 80s era fashion. Through these concepts I designed a colorful abstract collection of woman’s businesswear

Destruction and Regrowth is a small capsule collection of woman’s wear blouses. Inspired by the concept of environmental destruction and the regrowth of society as well as design elements of the Japanese traditional kimono.

Junior Year

2020

This collection was created in the midst of Covid in 2020, thus it was created entirely digitally.

This collection Circular Subtraction was created for the CFDA scholarship. Inspired by architecture and the technique of subtraction cutting.

Subtraction cutting is an approach to garment pattern making that incorporates chance discovery, distance and the ability to cut fast and inaccurately without too much reference to numbers, fractions or sizing scales.

Circular Subtraction is a mix of knitwear and business casual.

ReDesigned Boro was a collection and brand idea for the Liz Claiborne scholarship. This collection / brand is inspired by Japanese boro textiles mixed with western style.

The brand was designed to create a circular supply chain through up-cycling, digital sampling, and a buy-back program.
